Problems !!!!

Had less then 2 years already replaced purple wire twice second time it melted and shorted to chassis blowing hole in it while melting connection so had to replace heating element as well. This also caused the timer control to freeze up meaning very hard to turn so had to replace. So one more chance then no more GE dryers for me. You would think GE would fix the purple wire issue.

Love how easily the door opens. Wish there was a volume button on the buzzer indicating time is up. Also auto stop would be an improvement. After going out to the store, came home to the buzzer, and dryer, still going! Over an hour later.

We purchased this brand and it is not our usual brand but because it was the only one that would fit in the area that has been designated for a dryer for 48 years. It seems to run ok but the door is very hard to shut. I don't like slamming doors but this one you have to slam. We are hoping it loosens up to be perfect and a bit more easy to shut. The price seemed a little steep for the average dryer but the fit was what we needed.

Just ok when space is limited

Due to space limitations, this was the dryer I got. Despite it having similar outside dimensions to my old dryer, the interior capacity seems much smaller. What a shame. I don't like that you can't shut off the buzzer, I don't like that the door opens to the side instead of down, so your clean laundry falls on the floor when you open the door, and I think it's cheap that they didn't bother to put a light in the interior. They don't make 'em like they used to. Other than that, it dries the clothes. That's what you pay the big bucks for.

Small Dryers May Cost More to Run.

Although my new GE dryer is basically the same dimensions outside as my previous GE (because both washer and dryer are in a closet), the inside seems smaller. It takes 80 minutes to dry a load of clothes or a load of towels. I™€™m very disappointed. Just wish I had more room for a larger and better dryer.

Purchased a washer and dryer combo 4-15-24 A few months after purchase the dryer stopped heating. Although I purchased an additional warranty, it was still under the manufacture warranty. However, they had trouble locating someone to work on the dryer. Finally, someone came and replaced a heating element that had some how gone bad. Fast forward to 3-16-26. After coming back from a camping trip, washed clothes and used the dryer. Dryer worked fine, washed another load and put in the dryer, dryer buzzes and the clothes are cold and still damp. Unplugged the dryer to see if that would reset it. Still doesn™€™t heat. Called my LowesProtect which is another disaster. However, I believe to have been sold a LEMON because how is it possible that a new dryer heating element goes out? I™€™m very disappointed in GE and know you are taking a chance with your purchase. Shame on you GE for delivering such a poor quality product and not making it right. I am sure that I will have to purchase another dryer soon because this appears to be an ongoing problem

I have had my dryer now for about a month and I am thrilled to death to have it. For about the last 35 years I have used my dryer which was located in my utility room and I had to go outside to the utility room rain or shine sleet or snow to dry my clothes. Now that I am almost 75 years old and cannot walk without using my walker it has become very challenging to do my laundry. I had a space in my house that was set up for a dryer but didn™€™t think that I could find a dryer that would fit in the space. I went to Ard Appliances here in Sumter, SC and Mr Mark Ard, Owner, said that he would send someone out to measure the space in the house for the dryer and would find a dryer that would fit in the space. They were able to find a dryer that fit perfectly in the space. The capacity of the dryer is awesome. Most of the loads I dry are fairly small but the dryer easily accommodates larger loads like bed sheets. The dryer is vented so that the heat from the dryer does not heat the house up. I cannot be more excited about having a dryer inside my house now so that regardless of what the weather is like outside I can dry clothes in the comfort of my home. I could have chosen a dryer from another manufacturer but I have had GE appliances before and have been satisfied with how well the appliances performed and the longevity of the product. Thank you for the opportunity of relaying to you my satisfaction of my new dryer.

VERY LOUD end of cycle buzzer - otherwise decent

The biggest negative for this dryer is the VERY LOUD end of cycle buzzer that goes off multiple times until you either open the door or until the timer fully runs out (at least 3 times). The buzzer can't be turned off/volume can't be adjusted. The loud buzzer means you can't throw stuff in the dryer before bed if the dryer is anywhere where you can hear it unless you want to be woken up after you fall asleep. Other than that, it is a solid, basic dryer for the price. This is a shallow depth unit and one of the cheaper units, it is pretty basic feature wise. The dryer settings and temperature options are sufficient for normal everyday needs. The dryer's lint filter is in the front and is easy to remove and clean. Noise level while running is quiet enough or at least relative to the basic one it replaced. The buttons and knobs at the top are easy to use and simple enough that they seem like they should hold up for long term use. I do think the dryer itself seems to "blow out" more lint onto the floor/around it than my old unit. I feel like there is more loose lint around now than there was before. Alternatively, it could also just be that there is more airflow and instead of getting stuck under the dryer it is (for now) escaping to the outside floor area.

The capacity is larger, controls easy to operate, quiet and drys all types of loads - from heavy towels to light loads in less time than the old one. Being able to purchase a quality product locally with repair work available if I need it was a huge plus.

The dryer does not have a choice for turning off the dryer buzzer. The buzzer is too loud and long. The dryer, which performs as expected, would get a higher rating if there is a control for turning off the buzzer or if the buzzer was quieter. I compare it to a basketball buzzer.

We live in a much smaller place and these were the largest capacity washer and dryer we could buy for the space. They work beautifully and quietly. Even though we are in 990 square feet, the machines are very quiet. Too early for us to review based on energy, but they are both rated well in that regard.

The capacity of this dryer is 6.2 cubic feet. Amanda base model is 6.5 and Whirlpool is 7.0. I chose this model because I required through the floor venting. The other brands didn™€™t offer this option.

I™€™m very impressed with the performance of this dryer. I bought it because it™€™s about the only dryer that would fit in my laundry closet. I dry most of my clothes on the delicate cycle with low heat and they come out perfect with no wrinkles. However, one major flaw is the ridiculous buzzer. It literally is as loud as a fire alarm. That is just inexcusable and it does not have a shutoff switch.

Terrible Buzzer Noise

I would strongly advise not to buy this model because of the non-adjustable buzzer volume. It is so loud it hurts the ears. If you don't go right away to the dryer, it continues, and a few minutes later goes off again. Evidently, it cannot be fixed. Buyer beware.

Buzzer is so loud, that it scares me every time the cycle is done and it goes off three times in a row at an insanely high decibel. Its awful! The dryer should be recalled or there should be some sort of fix for the non adjustable loud buzzer.

The dryer works great. Large loads, no problem... the buzzer is a little loud but often I am away from the dryer so I need it loud. Filter is easy to clean and it fits my very small laundry area. You can reverse the door as well.
