Doors Misaligned - Highly Disappointed

I got the refrigerator in March 2026. The doors weren't aligned - straight from factory as the fridge came through my front door complete, so the delivery guys didn't have to mount the doors. I waited 2 weeks for replacement doors. A GE repairman came and mounted them and they're still misaligned, not as much, but they are misaligned. Now I am waiting (been 5 business days now) for another call from GE to handle this issue. The fridge works as it's supposed to, but when it runs, it is very noisy. I will update the review after I hear back from GE on a solution to this.

Good Smaller Size (16.2cf)

Refrigerator is attractive and matches my other new GE appliances. I needed a smaller frig (16.2 cf) to replace my old GE frig. This one is the perfect size although I need to rearrange some things. Really like the sliding cheese,etc drawer, makes it east to rearrange things when necessary. Freezer is a good size.

I have only had this fridge for a day, but I love it so far. It is simple, but works great. I cannot yet speak to the energy efficiency, but I am sure it is much better than the old one I had from the 90's. Compared to the old fridge, which was essentially the same size, this has way more space and capacity. The doors can be adjusted either direction, and the shelves offer plenty of options for configuration. There is, of course a temp control for both the freezer and the fridge.

The capacity is decent, the shelving on the door could have one more shelve, the area where the light is, takes up more space than the older version of most fridges, the food keeps the right temperature, overall, a pretty good fridge, the energy saving feature helps to save on electricity bills, the fridge is not too noisy when running.

3 complete failures in 3 years - do not buy

Absolute lemon. Purchased in 10/2022 and it completely stopped keeping food cold by 10/2023. Repair took more than six weeks. In 4/2024, stopped keeping food cold again and repair process also took several weeks. Now 6/2025 and again it completely stopped keeping food cold. Cannot even freeze a tray of ice. I never dreamed that a refrigerator I purchased less than 3 years ago would fail 3 times, each time causing my food to spoil and leaving me for weeks with no refrigerator or freezer. I will be calling GE in the morning to start the repair process yet again. At this point they really need to give me a new refrigerator. Do not buy this product unless you want all the aggravation and expenses I have put up with - 3 failures in less than 3 years and living with no refrigerator for multiple months.

This top freezer refrigerator doesn't seem to keep my freezer items as cold as the refrigerator I replaced! My favorite snack is Outshine ice pops and they're almost in a slightly melted state when I'm ready for one. Regrettably, the size refrigerator I needed to purchase didn't offer many options and my goal was to stay with the same brand while shopping.

Think Twice about this model !

While this is a very attractive thing to look at - that's as for as it goes. It is extrememly noisy. The compressor and fan combine to resemble a wind tunnel. While it eventually reaches it's control setpoints it cycles amost constantly. Also - the freezsr has a nasty habit of periodically ramping up it's temerperature to 40+ degrees then requires over an hour to cool back to it's set point.Does wonders for the food and packaging! I had a service call that located one issue now have another for this wonderful issue. I am not a GE Hater by any means - the frig I replaced had over 25 yeasrs of faultless service and it was a GE - That's why I went GE again! Don't think I will do that again!

In my current residence (the 5th and final!), 3 years ago, I replaced my range and microwave with GE appliances. The refrigerator was not quite ready to be replaced at that time.
